What is the job description of a Marine Biologist?

Answer:
A marine biologist works in marine biology,
a very large field with many subfields. Marine biologists generally pick one area of marine biology to focus on, such as marine mammal rehabilitation, fisheries conservation, or marine invertebrates.

Other marine biologists focus on molecular biology, which is the study of biochemical processes happening inside living cells. Since plant and animal life in the oceans ranges all the way from enormous blue whales down to single celled organisms, there are a wide variety of life forms to study in the marine biome, which includes oceans and estuaries, or other brackish water areas.

Marine biologists might work primarily in the field or in a lab, depending upon their particular employer and position.  It is common for marine biologists to work from a research vessel which takes them up close to their field of study.
