What is modeling?

Answer:
Modeling is a career path and an art form
in which people use their bodies to show off tattoos, clothing, makeup, or hairstyling for advertisement or promotional purposes.

Models do not generally have to express themselves verbally unless doing so would enhance the emotional display of a photograph.  They primarily use the clothing, makeup, or their body language to convey emotion in photographs and advertisements.

Fashion modeling is the most common type of modeling, involving a catwalk and is usually to get cover photographs for magazines, advertisements, or catalogues.

The first model was Marie Vernet Worth, the wife of fashion designer Charles Frederick Worth, who used his wife as a house model in 1853.
