What is a Resume?

Answer:
A resume is a document that lists the highlights
of a person's work experience, and are usually used when someone is applying for a job.  Resumes include important information about the job applicant, including personal information like a phone number, email address, and address; information about work history; job skills; education; and any relevant awards or recognition.

Because a resume provides a first impression, many people spend a lot of time on the presentation of their resumes, and some even hire professional resume writers.  Resumes are usually short, with most people trying to keep their information to only one page.  In some areas, a resume might be called a Curriculum Vitae (CV), but in other areas, the two are considered to be different.
