What is a Job Opening?

Answer:
A job opening is a vacancy or open position
which a company or employer wants to have filled.  Job openings are usually advertised in places where potential applicants will look, such as newsletters, classified ads, and bulletin boards, usually relating to the specific field or emphasis of the position.

An employer generally wants to have the position filled as quickly as possible, with the best qualified candidate, and will advertise in ways to attract qualified people.  Job seekers tend to follow sites and publications which contain job openings, to constantly be updated on which positions are available.  Sometimes companies with job openings will seek out applicants, from sites which post resumes, for example, instead of the applicants seeking out the job.
