a claimant must have received wages for two of the four quarters in the base period prior to filing an unemployment claim.

During one of these quarters, the individual must have earned wages of $1600 or greater. Further, the total wages earned during the entire four quarter base period must be at least 150 percent of the amount earned during the highest quarter.

Individuals who become unemployed should file their claims during the week that their employment status changes, in order to avoid the possibility of losing benefits.
