What Does a Service Technician Do?

Answer:
A service technician, or field technician, is
someone who deals with mechanical or other types of systems, servicing and repairing these systems. The term “service technician” is often used for people who work on cars, but can also be used for those who service or repair plumbing systems, electrical power, heating and cooling systems, computers, and many other systems.

Some service technicians work out of established stores or shops, and have you bring things to them to repair, such as computers. Others work in the field, coming to houses or businesses, such as plumbers and people servicing or repairing air conditioning systems. A service technician may have a technical certificate, have been trained at a vocational school, or have performed an apprenticeship with an experienced service technician.
