Photography is a very competitive field, and photographers must be knowledgeable about composition, lighting, backdrops, and digital photography. Photographers keep a portfolio of their work to show potential employers and often submit their work to magazines to try to get it published. Most photographers are freelancers, contracting out particular jobs.
