What Does a Meteorologist Do? |
|
Answer:
A meteorologist is also called a weather forecaster. The field of atmospheric research has many meteorologists, studying weather conditions in the past and present and determining how these conditions might contribute to global warming and other environmental conditions. Meteorologists use radar, computers, satellites, and aircraft, among other forms of technology, to gather and analyze data. Meteorologists can also work in the field of air travel – in transportation and safety, detecting dangerous weather conditions, or as an architectural design consultant for airports. Other forms of construction use meteorologists as consultants also, helping architects and engineers know which types of building materials will hold up to inclement weather conditions, and how heating and cooling systems might need to work.
