A marine biologist studies and analyzes some of the incredibly diverse aspects of ocean life, such as marine plant life, how ocean currents affect marine life, rescue and rehabilitation of marine mammals, animal life in tidepools, or preserving a certain species of fish.

A marine biologist's job can vary widely, due to the tremendous variation of life in the ocean. Marine life can be as large as blue whales or as small as single celled diatoms. Marine biologists usually start out by performing internships in the field of marine biology, and studying science in school. Although many marine biologists do not make much money, they tend to be passionate about their field.
