What does a Job Recruiter do?

Answer:
A job recruiter is someone whose business it
is to find the best person for a position within an organization or a company.  Job recruiters have also become known as headhunters, and specialize in matching a candidate's skills to a particular job.  Companies who are concerned about finding an employee who is a good match for a position often hire job recruiters to find the right person.

There are two common models of job recruiting.  A retained recruiter is a job recruiter who has a contract with an organization or company to find qualified candidates for certain positions.  A retained job recruiter gets paid whether or not her candidates are hired.  Usually retained recruiters have an excellent track record before a company is wiling to hire them.

The more common way a job recruiter functions is to work on contingency.  A contingency recruiter only receives payment if one of her recruits is hired by the company employing the job recruiter.  This model is often preferable to employers because they can hire multiple job recruiters, speeding up the process, but they only have to pay the successful recruiter.
