What Does a Housekeeper Do?

Answer:
A housekeeper takes care of household services,
including tasks such as doing the laundry, cleaning the house, cooking, and sometimes performing errands. A housekeeper usually has more responsibilities than a maid or cleaning person, and therefore is more expensive than having someone come clean the house a few times a month. However, some people working under the title of “housekeeper” may stick to just the basics of cleaning the house and keeping it neat.

Full time housekeepers usually live in the home where they work, receiving room and board as well as a salary. A housekeeper is not a nanny, and usually does not care for the children in the house. A part time housekeeper usually works for various families, or sometimes a housekeeping agency who finds them housekeeping jobs on a short or long term basis.
