Geologists use their knowledge of how dynamic forces shape the earth to assist in predicting the effects that these forces may have on people. Geologists study geological events such as earthquakes, volcanoes, and soil erosion. They try to explore how various rocks may have been formed and what has happened to the rocks since their formation.
