What Does a Chiropractor Do? |
|
Answer:
A chiropractor is an alternative health care provider, Chiropractors receive a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, or DC, from chiropractic schools, and focus mainly on the spinal column. Chiropractors believe that the vertebrae of the neck and spine are often out of alignment. These misalignments, or subluxations, can be caused by physical trauma or everyday activity, and are thought to be the underlying cause of many different problems. Chiropractors treat obvious afflictions such as scoliosis as well as apparently unrelated ailments like acid reflux, headaches, and anxiety. Chiropractic means “through the hands” in Greek, and that is exactly how chiropractors work. They perform “adjustments,” or hands-on manipulations of the spine, back and neck, sometimes using special tables. Chiropractic patients often hear cracking or popping sounds during an adjustment, but should not feel pain. Trackback(0)
