What Does a Biologist Do?

Answer:
A biologist, or biological scientist, is someone
who studies living organisms in some form. Biologists learn about living organisms and life processes, often specializing in areas such as zoology, botany, microbiology, and physiology. Biology was developed as a separate science in the nineteenth century, and has become a very popular field of study.

Many biologists are also researchers. Biological research is conducted to learn about every kind of living organism from a microscopic virus to the largest animals on earth or in the water. Biologists also perform research in order to come up with solutions to environmental and health problems. Research might be done in a laboratory with animals or plants, or in the field. Biologists often work for colleges and universities, and for federal and state governments organizations.
