What are the Job Duties of a Database Administrator?

Answer:
A database administrator oversees the installation and functions of database software
which is used by a variety of people.  The first responsibility of a database administrator is often to install the database itself as well as the different users' accounts.  The database administrator must also make sure that the database is available to every computer on the network and troubleshoot any problems that may occur.

Once the database is set up the database administrator has a new set of job duties.  Database administrators are responsible for creating backup records for the database, in case something happens to the information stored in the main database.  The database administrator is also responsible for keeping up with any new versions of the database software and helping database users with any problems that may come up during use.
