What are the Job Duties of a Child Care Worker?

Answer:
Child care workers work in a number of settings, including
individual in-home care, or group care at a day care center, private home, or preschool.  No matter what the setting, the child care worker's job duties include making sure that the children are safe and well cared for.  Child care workers must nurture the children when their parents are not around, and organize activities that are age-appropriate.

Good child care workers should be certified in CPR and first aid in case of an emergency and able to provide references.  Job duties and qualifications of child care workers differ according to the age of the children under care.  Although child care workers are not teachers, they may teach some basic skills to young children, such as sharing toys, bathroom procedures, and how to play with other children.  For older children, child care workers might help with homework or make sure the children do minor chores.
