A graphic designer is a “graphic artist” – their job is creating designs and layouts for magazines, newspapers, reports, signs, and other types of publications. Many graphic designers specifically work on developing designs and layouts for web pages on the Internet.

Illustrator
As an illustrator, opportunities available to you may include working with art directors and illustrating greeting cards, posters, or children’s picture books. If you’re an art student, consider an internship – “on hands” experience is priceless. You’ll need a professional portfolio of your work available to show to potential employers.
