Which Washington colleges offer nursing programs?

Answer:
Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma
and Seattle University in Seattle are the two colleges with nursing programs in Washington.

In order to become an RN, you have three basic choices of educational paths:  a four-year degree (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), a two-year degree (Associates Degree in Nursing), or a diploma program (which is offered within a hospital and typically takes three years).  Some basic prerequisites include either the SAT or ACT, three years of math (including geometry and algebra II), three years of science (including biology and chemistry), four years of English, and two years of foreign language.  Those wishing to enter a nursing program after receiving their Bachelor’s Degree in another field might be eligible for an accelerated BSN program (which may only last 12 to 18 months) and will allow the graduate to begin their career at a level other than entry-level.

Typical nursing classes will include studies in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, chemistry, nutrition, psychology and other behavioral sciences, nursing, and some liberal arts classes.  There is also clinical study with a supervisor in various nursing programs within hospitals and clinics.

Once graduated, an RN has many working opportunities, including hospitals, clinics, home health care, retirement homes, and even corporate offices (these are called industrial nurses and are hired to help workers in the company with their health issues).  Healthcare is the number-one hiring field across the country right now.
