What is an MBA?

Answer:
An MBA is a Masters in Business Administration,
a postgraduate degree offered both through in-person universities and online.

A standard MBA includes studies on finance, managing business personnel (and their roles), managing business resources, understanding typical business environments, and knowledge of information technology.  Many companies, especially larger corporations, insist on an MBA for all those who wish to progress up the company ladder.

Studying for an MBA can serve many purposes, including these:  career advancement (and higher pay, even for a parallel position); servicing a career change (even if it’s to something completely different than the previous position); helping with small-business start-up (and the running thereof); offering general business and technological knowledge; identifying new trends and becoming a leader in one of those; and even networking and developing important business relationships.

In order to study for an MBA, most programs require some managerial work.  Even if the goal isn’t a specific job, having an MBA can open doors in many fields because of the greater understanding of business models and management ability implied in the degree.
