What colleges and universities in Nevada offer programs for Physicians Assistant?

Answer:
There is one college which offers a Physicians Assistant
program in Nevada – Touro University in Henderson.

In order to become a PA, you typically need two years of specialized schooling.  Most people who pursue this career already have a Bachelor’s Degree.  The typical PA program has some prerequisites, including at least two years of college, classes in biology and chemistry, and sometimes previous experience.

The program itself will include biochemistry, pathology, human anatomy, physiology, microbiology, clinical pharmacology, clinical medicine, geriatric and home healthcare, disease prevention, and medical ethics.  Students also must take on clinical training with a supervisor, usually in these areas:  primary care medicine, inpatient medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, geriatrics, emergency medicine, psychiatry, and pediatrics.  In Nevada, there are a number of teaching hospitals, including the University Medical Center and Sunrise Children’s Hospital, both in Las Vegas; St. Rose Dominican’s Hospital in Henderson; and Washoe Medical Center in Reno.   Healthcare is the number-one-hiring field across the country right now.
