An Account Executive is one who typically is
engaged in the planning, coordination and execution of specific programs, campaigns, portfolios and other account instruments for clients in a variety of business types.


For example, in the advertising world, an Account Executive would be responsible to work with clients on their advertising campaigns, where the Account Executive would submit a proposed plan, along with estimated costs and other pertinent details, for client approval and subsequent execution of the plan.

Account Executive positions in Public Relations companies would be involved in client community and other public campaigns and communications, toward building and maintaining positive community and public image.

Account Executive positions in Financial institutions might be responsible to monitor and manage clients' investment portfolios toward the most effective fund allocations.  Sometimes, such positions are known as Portfolio Managers.

In most Account Executive positions, individuals are required to be trustworthy, organized, keenly familiar with products or services being managed for clients, up to date on latest trends and best practices, personable and approachable character traits, and other similar skills and talents that keep clients' best interests always uppermost in priority.
