What personal skills or qualities are needed to become a Real Estate Agent?

Answer:
A Real Estate Agent is one who is engaged in
listing, advertising, and helping to sell real property for clients.  Some Real Estate Agents might also assist buyers seeking real property.

Real Estate Agents, generally speaking, are hired by property owners wishing to sell their real estate.  As such, Real Estate Agents have fiduciary responsibility to the sellers

Many potential real estate buyers forget that Real Estate Agents are usually working for the sellers, although some Real Estate Agents also hire out to would-be buyers, as "finders" of property being sought.

Real Estate Agents in most states are required to attend State approved Real Estate Agent courses, and to pass comprehensive Real Estate Agent tests, in order to obtain their Real Estate Agent License.   Most states require annual Real Estate License renewals.

In many states, Real Estate Agents must be affiliated with or employed by a Real Estate Broker, who has completed additional (Real Estate Broker) education and testing for Broker Licensure.  Generally, Brokers are the ones who manage and operate a Real Estate office.

Academic education suggestions and requirements for becoming a Real Estate Agent are:
-Mathematics, accounting, bookkeeping
-Language; as deemed necessary by prevailing regional demographics.
-Real Estate Agent state-required educational courses, which typically cover business law, real estate law, and other similar topics.

Real Estate Agents must be personable and approachable, since their work involves frequent contact with clients.  Real Estate Agents must also be honest and trustworthy, since their clients and customers rely on them for help with some of the most important facets of their lives.

Real Estate Agents in many states are required to periodically attend Continuing Education programs in order to maintain their state Real Estate Agent license.  Typically, Real Estate Agents are required to complete several hours of Continuing Education every two or three years.
