What personal skills or qualities are needed to become a LAN Administrator?

Answer:
A LAN (Local Area Network) Administrator is
one who is engaged in Information Technology (IT) fields; often within large corporations and businesses, institutions, municipalities, and other similar venues.

LAN Administrators are generally responsible for designing, evaluating, selecting, implementing, operating and maintaining an entity's Local Area Network of computer hardware and software functionality across the particular business model.

LAN Administrators need to be thoroughly familiar with the particular processes and procedures managed through a given network of hardware and software, since such functionality is the driving force of most business operations.

Business communications, reports, emails, databases, applications, metrics, and numerous other business related functions are carried out across computer networks designed to provide ready access and input and output protocols for all users on the network.  LAN Administrators are responsible for making sure the network is stable, robust, and system downtime is minimal or zero.

LAN Administrators need to be trained in Computer Sciences, Network Strategies, Databases, Programming, Mathematics, and other computer system related areas of study.

LAN Administrators also need to be detail-oriented, organized, and logical-thinking.  In addition, they should be patient and tolerant of end-users who might not understand network and system glitches and malfunctions.
