What is a Vision Statement?

Answer:
A vision statement is a clear, concise way to
explain the purpose and mission of an individual or employee.  A vision statement is much like a values statement, since they both can describe the philosophy of an individual, but a vision statement tends to focus on the future.

Vision statements are usually drafted by anyone as they encompass goals associated with personal and professional lives.

An effective vision statement will state future goals, including what the individual or employee hopes to accomplish.  Decisions can be made by looking at the vision statement and determining if a certain step will bring the individual closer to the goals stated in the vision statement.
